1) Alice in Wonderland Syndrome

This disorder, also known as Todd’s Syndrome or Lilliputian hallucinations, is a neurological condition distorting human perception. The symptoms of this disease include the confusion of sizes and shapes of body parts and other objects. Those suffering from this disorder often have a distorted perception of time, touch, and sound. While there are no proven effective treatments, some treatments are believed to help alleviate symptoms.

2) Capgras Delusions

This extremely rare disorder can be brought about by various conditions, including changes t0 the chemistry of the brain associated with a mental illnesses and physical trauma to the brain. Those who suffer from Capgras believe that their loved ones have been replaced by seemingly identical impostors; they feel as if they are in a parallel universe or as if some part, even the soul, of the person has disappeared. 3) Wereolf Syndrome

Medically known as Hypertrichosis, this is an extremely rare disorder marked by excessive hair growth that can be either congenital or acquired. There are links between acquired Hypertrichosis and side effects of drugs, associations with cancer, and eating disorders. While Hypertrichosis has no known cure, acquired Hypertrichosis can usually be reduced with various treatments, such as laser hair removal.

4) Mermaid Syndrome

Sirenomelia is a congenital deformity in which a person’s legs are fused together, giving the legs the appearance of a mermaid’s tale. While most who have this condition die before birth, those who survive birth usually die within a few days due to complications involving the kidneys and urinary bladder. Three children were known to have survived through infancy, surviving to 9 and 10 years old, and Tiffany Yorks, whose legs were separated before age one, is still alive at 25 years old.

5) Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome

EDS is a group of inherited disorders marked by hyper-elastic skin, damage-prone blood vessels, and loose joints. While there are no known treatments for EDS, people with EDS generally have a normal life span and average intelligence.
