The People’s Climate March took place on Sunday, September 21st: at 11:30 am,  Hewitt students and faculty met at the Ethical Culture School. Later, we all gathered in the street, along with over 400,000 other people and 100+ world leaders and celebrity climate change enthusiasts, including Leonardo DiCaprio, for the biggest climate march in history.

The streets were jam-packed with people carrying signs and posters with different slogans to raise awareness about the reality and impact of climate change. We, participants from Hewitt, carried our own posters that read, “The Hewitt School. We Care About Our Future.”  The Climate March went from 66th and Central Park West, all the way to around West 34th street and 11th Avenue. The more people that are involved, the more attention will be called to this cause. Those in power  will have to listen to the pleas of  the people. It was great to see how many people care about the Earth like I do at the Climate March.
