Everyone comes to watch the Super Bowl, whether it’s for the commercials, the half-time show, or, most likely, the game. This year

the New England Patriots battled, but ultimately lost to the New York Giants. The victory is proof that history repeats itself (The Giants last defeated the New England Patriots in the Super Bowl four years ago).

The big game started off with the National Anthem, sung by Kelly Clarkson. The game then began with the coin toss. The Giants called tails, but the coin flipped heads. The Patriots started off the game. Defensive pressure was way too hard for the Patriots, allowing Victor Cruz, New York Giants receiver, to catch the first touchdown with little difficulty. With a field goal and nine points, everyone thought that the Giants had this game in the bag. But the New England Patriots answered to the call with their own touchdown and field goal. By half time, it was a tie.

For those interested in the pop culture aspect of the game, Madonna led a pack of musicians Cee Lo Green, Nicki, Minaj, M.I.A., and LMFAO in the halftime show. With a floored video screen and a mass choir, the musicians rocked it. The Patriots kicked off the third quarter with a touchdown and field goal, getting ahead of the Giants with 17 points. The president of the Patriots shot up his hands in joy. Unfortunately, the Giants offense team could not catch up with the Patriots. However, inching towards a tie, they led in field goals, leaving the score at the end of the third quarter 15-17. The Patriots defense continually sacked Eli Manning and tackled receivers and running backs. With all the touchdowns from the Patriots, the Giants defense team, led by jean Pierre Paul, could not stop the Patriots from winning the 3rd quarter. All Giants fans lowered their heads in disappointment.

In the beginning of the 4th quarter, the Giants made the ultimate interception when Chase Blackburn caught a deep pass made by Tom Brady. Surprisingly, the Giants burned out TWO time-outs, leaving them with only one in the 4th quarter. The Giants defense at the beginning of the 4th quarter was weak. They could not catch any of the receivers. But, despite this and an unfortunate influx of injuries, The Giants got a touchdown, the receiver literally sitting in the end zone. With only 57 seconds left to the game, the Patriots could not score. The last deep past from Tom Brady was deflected by Giants players in the end zone. Many expected the Giants to lose. You could say this victory is proof that anything is possible.
