We’re pleased to announce that the theme of this year’s Venturer is commemoration. As a generation, we are unique in that we are a commemorative culture – we look both backwards, nostalgic for our hazy memories of the 90s, and forwards, as we reflexively record today’s moments with our cameras and catalogue them on social networking sites, documenting tomorrow’s memories in real time. The theme is loose, so you can take it and run with it in any direction. Art and writing submissions of any type and size can be sent to venturer@hewittschool.org. We’re also working on some new interesting things in Venturer – we’re starting up a bulletin board, potentially designing an internet supplement, and throwing a third annual Eat Your Words day – so if you want to be a part of this exciting time for Venturer, we urge you to come swing by during Club time block B.
