On October 27th and 28th, the Hewitt Upper School presented the show, “The Cripple of Inishmaan”, The cast had been practicing prior to the start of school, proving their talents and love for acting. The story is about a debilitated man named Cripple Billy who lives on Inishmaan Island in Ireland. His parents have died so he lives with his aunts, and he has a crush on a beautiful, but vain, woman named Helen. Life on Inishmaan is pretty boring for Cripple Billy until he hears of a movie being filmed on a nearby island. Billy decides that he wants to be in the movie and seeks to leave his boring town behind in order to have an adventure.

The show was beautifully put together, not only by the cast but by the crew as well. Olivia T. ’19, who worked as part of the crew, complimented her peers. “The cast put tremendous effort towards their accents as well as bringing humor to the show within a dark story”. Many agreed that one of the best scenes was when Cali B. ‘19, who played Helen, cracked an egg on Julia G.’s head. Great job guys, it was truly a pleasure to watch!
