We are now in the awards season,  and the Golden Globes have just rounded the corner to celebrate the many great movies, actresses and actors, television shows, and soundtracks that have been featured this year. Some viewers were surprised and others were content when it came to many of the awards announced this year, and if you missed it, we’ll recap some of the highlights at the 2015 Golden Globes Awards.


Notably, George Clooney won the lifetime achievement award, also known as  the Cecil B. DeMille award, for his long and reputable career on the big screen.

The nominees for the Best Drama were Foxcatcher, Imitation Game, Selma, The theory of Everything, and Boyhood. Boyhood, the move that doubled as a 12-years coming-of-age project, came out as the winner.

Speaking of Boyhood, the award for Best Director went to the movie’s director, Richard Linklater.

Up for Best Comedy were The Grand Budapest Hotel, Into the Woods, Pride, Birdman, and St. Vincent. The award ultimately went to Wes Anderson’s The Grand Budapest Hotel.

The award for Best Actress in a Drama went to Julianne Moore for her work in Still Alice, coming out ahead over Jennifer Aniston in Rosamund Pike, and Reese Witherspoon in Into The Woods.

The award for Best Actor in a Drama was given to Eddie Redmayne in The Theory of Everything. Other nominees included Steve Carell, Benedict Cumberbatch, Jake Gyllenhaal, and David Oyelowo.

Micheal Keaton won the Golden Glob for Best Actor in a Musical or Comedy, ahead of Ralph Fiennes, Bill Murray, Joaquin Phoenix, and Christoph Waltz.

The Best Actress in a Musical or Comedy went to Amy Adams in Big Eyes;  other nominees included Emily Blunt, Helen Mirren, Julianne Moore, and Quvenzhané Wallis.

The winner of Best Supporting Actress, Patricia Arquette in Boyhood, beat Jessica Chastain, Kiera Knightley, Emma Stone, and Meryl Streep.

The award for Best Supporting Actor went to J.K Simmons, against nominees Robert Duvall, Ethan Hawke, Edward Norton, and Mark Ruffalo.

The Best TV Comedy and Musical went to the television show Transparent. Nominees included Silicon Valley, Orange is the New Black, Jane the Virgin, and Girls.

“The Affair” won Best TV Drama; other nominees included “Downtown Abbey”, “Game of Thrones”, “The Good Wife”, and “House of Cards.”

Also from The Affair, the Best Actress in a TV Drama went to Ruth Wilson. Other nominees included Claire Danes, Viola Davis, Julianna Margulies, and Robin Wright.

Kevin Spacey, awarded Best Actor in a TV Drama, won over Clive Owen, Liev Schreiber, James Spader, and Dominic West.
