If you haven’t already noticed from all the Apple users carrying larger-than-normal iPhones, Apple has recently released two new iPhones as well as a new-and-improved software update. The iPhone 6 and 6 Plus were released in mid September, and along with those, iOS 8 was released.

But Apple hasn’t stopped there. The iWatch, a new piece of wearable technology, is soon to be released early in the 2015  year. The iWatch will have three collections – Apple Watch, Apple Sport, and Apple Edition – which are all meant to suit people’s different and everyday lifestyles.

The iWatch comes in two sizes, 38mm and 42mm in height. It has a variety of band options, as well as customizations of the frame surrounding the face of the watch. Bands include the link bracelet, the sport band, the leather loop, the classic buckle, the modern buckle, and the milanese loop. Additionally, the metal surrounding the watch face can either be stainless steel, silver aluminum, 18 karat yellow gold, space black stainless steel, space gray aluminum, or 18 karat rose gold.

According to Apple’s website, “Apple Watch represents a new chapter in the relationship people have with technology. It’s the most personal product we’ve ever made, because it’s the first one designed to be worn.” Apple has invented “all-new ways to select, navigate, and input that are ideally suited to a smaller device worn on the wrist.”

The iWatch will have a small dial on the side called a “crown,” used to navigate throughout it conveniently. On mechanical watches, the crown is used to set the date and time, but with the iWatch, the crown can be twisted to zoom, scroll, and can be pressed to return back to the home screen.

Notifications will be even more personal with the iWatch. You’ll feel a tap when you receive an incoming message, and to get the attention of other iWatch users, you can tap your screen and send a pulsing beat to them. In addition, Apple has made sure that their technological watch is perfect in its core function of being a watch – “It uses multiple technologies in conjunction with your iPhone to keep time within 50 milliseconds of the definitive global time standard. And it can automatically adjust to the local time when you travel.” There will also be a health and fitness component to the iWatch.

Lastly, with the iWatch, charging is simple and effective. On the back of the iWatch there is a circle where you can magnetically attach the charger to the watch. This design is very similar to the current MacBook Airs and MacBook Pros.

Apple’s new iWatch is a very convenient, technologically-savvy way to tell time that certainly has no shortage of interesting features.
