Say goodbye to those unfulfilled midnight cravings because the Sprinkles Cupcake ATM has arrived right here on the Upper East Side!

This incredible creation works just like a regular ATM: you swipe your credit card, select the type of cupcake you would like to purchase, and, within a span of 10-15 seconds, a beautiful cupcake will appear through a window.

The cupcake ATM was created by owner of Sprinkles Cupcakes, Candace Nelson. The first Sprinkles Cupcakes opened in 2005 in Beverly Hills. The first ever cupcake ATM began serving customers on March 6th, 2012 at this Beverly Hills location. Sprinkles has been a leader in the recent cupcake-only bakery trend, inspiring so many bakers  who have since opened up their own cupcake shops! Sprinkles is known for its plethora of flavors ranging from red velvet to chai latte.

Growing up in Manhattan, I have never seen a line for any type of food as long as the one for the Cupcake ATM. As I stood on line waiting for each person in front of me to get his or her cupcake, I kept thinking to myself, “Sophie, why are you waiting 20 minutes for a cupcake instead of just walking into the actual store and buying one the old-fashioned way?”

That is the real question: why not do it the “old-fashioned way?” This whole idea of an electric cupcake distributor really just boggles my mind. If cupcakes can be destributed like this, why not salads or ice cream, or even pizzas too?

Sprinkles has also recently expanded its shop with Sprinkles Ice Cream and Cookies right next door to the original store. I got the chance to taste the infamous ice cream.

As I took my first bite into the red velvet ice cream with dark chocolate cupcake on top, my body filled with happiness. I have never tasted an ice cream that amazing before. Sprinkles has really done an amazing job branding its company and truly creating fantastic cupcakes and ice cream! To check out this amazing treat, visit the Sprinkles store on 60th and Lexington. But beware of the line for the ATM!
