Every year, Hewitt does Thanksgiving right. Hundreds of girls, from kindergarten through 12th grade plus alumnae, and teachers congregate in the Christian Scientist Church to celebrate the holiday through the singing of songs, reading of poems, and ringing of chimes. This turkey day assembly has been a Hewitt tradition for as long as anyone can remember, and the highlight remains The Turkey Song, sung once by kindergarteners turned pilgrims and then a second time by the whole school.

Romi Jin ’16 commented, “I remember standing on stage in front of everyone with my 50 other classmates, belting out the lyrics to the song, like it was just yesterday.”

More highlights of the assembly include Ms. Lonergan’s pilgrim hat, welcoming back the alumnae, and all of us singing along to the Thanksgiving song.
