Using social media to spread awareness and make change has become a large part of the the digital age. For example, Humans of New York recently raised over $80,000 for the adoption of an orphan from Ethiopia by posting a portrait of his future father on his Facebook page. Similarly, Youtube sensations Jack and Finn have raised money for several charities from their daring videos.

The latest viral Youtube video of the Children’s hospital at Dartmouth-Hitchcock raised over $650,000. With the help of over 2,000,000 views, an organization called Positive Tracks, and several cute kids, the four-minute video of children lip-syncing to the new Katy Perry song “Roar” has turned into to a viral sensation.
