The Hobbit by JRR Tolkien is more than just a book or a movie. This book has had a life which will continue to live on. The Hobbit was written during WWII. The book reflects on this war in discreet and somewhat obvious ways if you read carefully. For example in The Hobbit there is a part about the War of Five Armies. This is a fictional war where the original enemies are in a useless dispute and end up joining sides to fight the evil goblins and other creatures of the dark. Today it has been made into a movie with a slightly more modern twist. The main difference is the Orcs. They look more Sci-fi and in the movie, they are the main enemy; however in the book the main enemy is the goblins. Of course they both work alongside in the book and not as much in the movie. In conclusion The Hobbit has changed and will continue to change both in how people picture the story and how they find meaning in it as well.
