Once again, the annual Blue/White Lip Sync Competition lit up the Hewitt auditorium. An hour’s worth of great music and even greater dancing left the audience in a good mood; students clapped and sang along with the dancers throughout the entire assembly.

The judges for this year’s contest were Ms. Weber, Ms. Stevens, and Ms. Dore. After watching routines varying from Amy Winehouse to Soulful Strut/Hands Go Up, the judges announced the winners. Third place went to 12th grade. During their medley of various party songs, the bat mitzvah girl (Madeline Mogul ’12) was escorted into the gym by Mr. Denver and Mr. Malone in the classic fluffy Betsey Johnsonesque dress.

Second place went to the 10th grade White team, made up of Stephanie Reyes, Rebecca Aydin, and Zoe Himmel. Their body rolls sent waves of laughter through the audience, and Rebecca said after the victory, “It was fun-I don’t think I can dance like that in public, so why not [at Hewitt]?” The first place award went to 10th grade Blue, who performed a medley called Evolution of Dance. The songs ranged from Elvis Presley to Michael Jackson, and each participant did her own dance solo.
