The Senior staircase. Secret snowflake. The Halloween pageant. Should I go on?  Hewitt prides itself in its traditions, and we, the students, adore celebrating each of them ever year.  But we all know one which is close to our hearts, the Turkey Song.

Every year, the Kindergarten class sings the Turkey Song to the entire school.  In past years, the class was divided into two groups, the Pilgrims and the Native Americans; this year, they wore handmade hats reflecting both traditions together.  Hands down, their performance is one of the cutest displays of the year.  No one in the audience can resist singing along with them.

Although the turkey song is a well known favorite of the Thanksgiving assembly, we can definitely reflect on many other great moments, including the reading of poems, the choir’s performance, and Ms. Wolf’s advisory’s turkey hats.

Everyone was in the spirit; the holiday season has officially begun. Soon we will be choosing our secret snowflakes, and the students will absolutely dominate the teacher/student basketball game. The handbell choir and the chamber choir are preparing for their annual Holiday concert.  There are so many exciting things in the near future!

But what is the most exciting of all?

Winter. Break.
