On June 24, 2011, the new iPhone 4S was released with 4G and a bigger screen. There are mixed opinions about Apple’s new phone. As an iPhone lover, eighth grader Lauren Troy stated,
“It makes it much easier to communicate with your friends, and Siri is very helpful,” referring to the woman’s voice who you can talk to, through your phone. Thus, the iPhone 4S (S for Siri). “The sleek design is very chic and you can customize it with different cases. With thousands of apps to choose from, you are always sure to find what you need!”
The iPhone 4S brings many great improvements to an already amazing cellular device. Why buy this new phone? What’s the difference between this one and the previous iPhones? This one offers a better camera, dual-core processor, iOS 5, 64GB model, and the already-famous Siri. Also, to the delight of many who were previously unable to get iPhones, Sprint has joined the Apple family, which already included AT&T and Verizon.
Middle and Upper School students: is this what you want for your Hanukkah or Christmas present? Is it worth your parents’ money? Will it come through on its promises? For some, maybe not, but for others, yes- definitely.
Beware: you might have to spend some extra money on a new case. (Some reviewers were upset that the iPhone 4 cases wouldn’t fit their new iPhone 4S because the designers moved the ambient light sensor.)
Siri, the new voice recognizer (with an attitude!) is what makes the new phone so popular. Siri has been called many things such as: assistant, robot, friend, golfer, and a sassy new friend. People program Siri to know their name, where they live, and much more. Ask her anything, and she knows the answer. Whether or not Siri and the other features of the iPhone 4s are worth making the switch from the iPhone 4, I think we all can agree that it’s the most amazing iPhone yet!
