I think that age is a completely arbitrary factor on which to decide of somebody can vote. 17? 18? 21? It’s nonsense! We need a better way of deciding whether or not people should be able to vote, like by taking a test on our country’s history/etc.
I agree that it would be ideal if political awareness was a prerequisite for voting, but that would contradict the fundamental right.
