Last Thursday morning, ITS and Student Council presented to the Upper School the first talent show of this year.  It was kicked off with a bit of cabaret, performed by Alexandra Warrick, ’12, singing “I Don’t Care Much.”

Then the show changed gears with Marianelly Rios,’12, playing the guitar and singing “Untouchable” by Taylor Swift.

After this we traveled back to the seventies with Casidy Campbell, ’12, and Samara Foster, ’11, singing “Lean On Me” by Bill Withers, with a little piano accompaniment from Coach Ray.

To give a classical touch to this performance, Carolina Cabrera, ’13,  played a piece by Sergei Rachmaninoff.   The closers, Chinelo Okpala, ’14,

and Zoe Himmel, ’14, brought the house down with an originally choreographed dance routine set to their personal mix.

This talent show gave the entire Upper School a new look into the talents of the performers that may not have been known before.  If you missed it, check out the highlights as featured on Hewitt’s facebook!

Not only was this talent show a great success, but it gave a taste of all different types of music.

The program floated  from classical to hip hop.  We had a bit of dancing and acting from Zoe and Chinelo to the timeless Pink Panther theme song.  And to top the whole show off, we were able to experience Coach Ray attempt to play the piano.

Let’s hope that ITS and Student Council keep this new tradition going.
